About the Finance Nurse

Straight talk from a real one

Hi, I'm Izzy. Registered Mental Health Nurse, seven years on the wards, based in the United Kingdom. I trained in Nigeria, moved to the UK at the end of 2021, and figured out UK money the hard way, payslip by confusing payslip.

Nobody taught us this in nursing school. Not tax codes, not the NHS pension tiers, not what "salary sacrifice" actually means when it lands in your account. We were trained to save lives and left to work out our own by trial and error.

I got tired of watching brilliant colleagues (nurses, Healthcare Support Workers, doctors, etc) trapped payday to payday on genuinely decent money, because nobody had ever sat them down and explained it in plain English.

So I sought after financial knowledge, and it changed my life and how I handle money. As a result, I started making educational finance content across several social media platforms. I also built something I wish I'd had at the start to help me organise my finances: the Money Vitals app.

Money Vitals does what a good clinician does. It takes your vitals, gives you the honest reading, and points you at what to do about it. No jargon, no selling you anything you don't need, no pretending a Wealth Manager mindset applies to someone on a Band 5.

I'm also about to complete my first book, Financial First Aid for Overworked Professionals, written for exactly the people I work alongside every day.

This is built by someone from your world, for people in your world: NHS, healthcare, working-class UK. If you've ever stared at your payslip and thought where does it all go?, you're the reason this exists.

Educational, not regulated financial advice.

Questions, answered straight

Is my money data private?

Completely. Everything you type stays on your own device, and it's never uploaded, and I never see a single figure. Your numbers are yours alone.

Can I use it on more than one device?

For now it lives on the device you use it on, so pick one. Your phone's ideal,, and it installs to your home screen like a normal app. Syncing across phone and laptop is on the way.

What happens if I get a new phone?

Before you switch, tap Back up my data inside the app, and it saves a file. Open the app on your new phone and restore it. Two taps and you're back exactly where you left off.

Is it a one-off or a subscription?

One-off. Pay £9.99 once, it's yours to keep. No monthly fee, no catch.

How do refunds work?

Payments run through Lemon Squeezy, who handle the money side. If something's not right, email me and I'll get it sorted quickly.

Is this financial advice?

No. It's a tool to help you see your own numbers clearly and make your own calls. It's educational, not regulated advice.
